Dudhwa Tiger Reserve has three safari areas that visitors book: Kishanpur Zone, Dudhwa Zone 1 and Katarniaghat. Jeep safaris run in a morning and an evening shift, one vehicle takes up to 7 people, and bookings are made through UP Ecotourism, the official booking body.
This guide explains each zone, the published timings and the two ways to book: yourself online, or through your resort. At DTR Jungle Hideaways, 2-3 minutes from the Kishanpur gate, our team handles permits and safari booking end to end.
Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary is the zone best known for tigers in Dudhwa. It has better visibility, and Beldanda, the Ring Road and Jhadi Tal are well known for tiger, leopard, swamp deer and birdlife. DTR Jungle Hideaways is 2-3 minutes from its entry gate.
The Sonaripur and Sathiana ranges, about an hour's drive from our resort. Denser forest, elephant herds and the famous Rhino Area, where one-horned rhinos can be seen on elephant back (morning) or by vehicle (afternoon).
Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary, about 2.5-3 hours away by road, is known for the Gerwa River, Gangetic dolphins and gharials. It is best done as a full-day trip; we plan the timing so you do not miss your slot.

The jeep safari is booked per vehicle (up to 7 persons), with the guide fee included in the official booking. The park entry fee is charged separately, and Indian and foreign nationals pay different rates. The Rhino Area ride in Zone 1 is an extra fee.

As published by UP Ecotourism for Dudhwa National Park: in winter, 7:00-10:00 am and 3:00 pm to sunset; in summer, 6:00-9:00 am and 4:30 pm to sunset. Timings can be revised by the forest department, so we confirm your slot at booking.

Kishanpur Zone records the most tiger sightings in Dudhwa, especially around Beldanda, the Ring Road and Jhadi Tal. Dudhwa Zone 1 is best for the Rhino Area. Sightings are never guaranteed in the wild.
The Rhino Area in Dudhwa Zone 1 runs elephant rides in the morning and vehicle rides in the afternoon, with two elephants and two vehicles per shift. It works on a first-come-first-served basis at an extra fee, so reach early.
Dudhwa Tiger Reserve is usually open from 15 November to 15 June and closed during the monsoon. The forest department announces the exact dates each year.
