Most wildlife lovers in Delhi NCR start with Jim Corbett. After a few trips, the same zones, the weekend crowds and the slow last stretch of road start to feel familiar. Dudhwa Tiger Reserve in the Terai of Uttar Pradesh is the jungle many of them try next.

We think both are worth visiting. If Corbett is ticked off, Dudhwa is the natural next step.
Both trips leave Delhi on NH9 through Ghaziabad, Garh Mukteshwar and Moradabad. For Corbett you turn off towards Kashipur and Ramnagar; in our own experience, and our guests', that last stretch is often slow, with patchy road and heavy weekend traffic.

They suit different travellers. Corbett has more tigers, more resorts and hill-and-river scenery. Dudhwa is quieter, has one-horned rhinos and swamp deer that Corbett does not offer, and at DTR Jungle Hideaways you stay 2-3 minutes from the Kishanpur safari gate. Many Delhi travellers who have already done Corbett choose Dudhwa for a different jungle.
Corbett. The 2022 All India Tiger Estimation counted 260 tigers in Corbett Tiger Reserve, the highest of any reserve. Dudhwa Tiger Reserve's count rose to 135 as reported by the UP forest department. Sightings depend on the zone, season and luck in both parks.

No. Corbett has no one-horned rhinos. In Dudhwa you can see them in the Rhino Area of Dudhwa Zone 1, on elephant back in the morning or by vehicle in the afternoon.
Yes. Corbett is one of India's busiest tiger reserves; its Dhikala zone stays sold out soon after online booking opens. Dudhwa sees far fewer tourists, so drives feel calmer and it is easier to get safari slots, although weekends and holidays still need advance booking.
Corbett's Dhikala zone and Dudhwa Tiger Reserve both usually open on 15 November and close on 15 June for the monsoon. Exact dates are announced by the forest departments each year.
