Nearest airport to Dudhwa National Park

Bareilly Airport (BEK) is the nearest airport to Dudhwa National Park, about 3.5-4 hours by road from the Kishanpur Zone gate. It is a small airport with a limited schedule, so check which routes are flying before you plan around it.

For most visitors the practical choice is Lucknow (Chaudhary Charan Singh International, LKO), about 4 hours away. It is barely further by road and has far more flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kolkata. If you are coming from outside north India, fly to Lucknow.

Bareilly to Dudhwa by road, step by step

  1. Leave Bareilly on Pilibhit Road, heading east.
  2. Continue through Pilibhit and on to Puranpur.
  3. From Puranpur carry on to Khuttar Crossing, then turn left towards Mailani.
  4. From Mailani continue to Bhira.
  5. At Bhira turn left towards Kishanpur Gate. The resort is about 4.5 km ahead, right at the gate.
Plan to arrive in daylight. After Pilibhit the highway gives way to quieter district roads, and the last stretch runs along the forest edge. Leaving Bareilly by mid-morning gets you in comfortably for lunch and an afternoon safari.

Pilibhit and Puranpur are the last reliable stops for fuel, ATMs and a pharmacy. Mobile signal is patchy near the forest, so download offline maps before you leave and save our number: +91 95606 47536.

  • Check the season. Dudhwa opens on 1 November 2026 and usually closes around 15 June. Details in our safari season guide.
  • Carry original ID for every adult — it is needed at check-in and for the forest permit.
  • Pack for cold mornings. Open-jeep winter safaris are colder than the daytime temperature suggests. Full list: what to pack.
